The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with over 3 million tests taken in the last year.
IELTS assesses all of your English skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking, and is designed to reflect how you will use English at study, at work, and at play, in your new life abroad.

IELTS is accepted by thousands of US universities, including Ivy League institutions, and most universities in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
There are two versions of IELTS. If you plan to work or undertake work-related training in an English-speaking country, take IELTS General Training. If you want to register with a professional organisation, take IELTS Academic.

Points to be noted:
An IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) is valid for two (2) years.
A candidate may resit the IELTS test at any time.
IELTS tests you on the four skills of English language i.e. Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening. The four sections are explained in detail below:
Listening – The listening test will be for 30 minutes and is segregated into 4 sections
Reading – The reading test comprises 40 questions, all divided into 3 sections. The time duration for this section is 60 minutes.
Writing – The writing test will have 3 tasks and will be for 60 minutes.
Speaking – The speaking test consists of 3 parts of 11-14 minutes.
Practice IELTS: Nothing can get you a get score if you do not practice. Use the IELTS practice material to get a better idea of the kind of questions that you might experience during your test. The more you practice, the better you become.
